Construction Cleaning for New COVID-19 Vaccine Manufacturing Facility

Bouygues Energies & Services operates in over 81 countries worldwide. It is part of the Bouygues Group, a global brand employing more than 124,600 people within the construction, telecommunications, and media sectors. The design and build of a new manufacturing plant in Livingston, Scotland, was awarded to Bouygues ES. The new Multi Vaccine Facility was designed to EU GMP Grade A to D cleanroom standards.

Challenge

Bouygues quickly needed a partner with the flexibility, resources, and knowledge to perform builders’ cleaning and maintenance services during the construction of 4,740 square metres of interior space. Due to the nature of this ongoing construction project, the partner had to be ready to adapt to unexpected schedule changes and other adjustments.

Solution

ABM was able to provide the right staffing solution by relying on:

- Performed initial builders clean to remove dust and debris, including vacuuming and diluted isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe down of the room elevations.
- Ground floor: 2,500 m² of cleanrooms, including laboratories.
- First Floor: 2,250 m² walk-on ceiling, servicing the area with the cleanrooms below.
- Undertook maintenance clean to all rooms and areas, ensuring their cleanliness before the application of silicon.
