John McPherson – Managing Director – B&I UK

John McPherson is Managing Director for B&I U.K. and ABM’s Technical Services Business. B&I U.K. have enjoyed significant growth and profitability since ABM acquired the previous UK business back in 2015 and have received great feedback from our customers throughout the pandemic.

In the U.K. B&I provide Cleaning, Mission Critical, and Engineering Services and also self-deliver Security where they are ranked amongst the top 3% of companies following a recent audit by the governing body.

B&I market sectors are Commercial Real Estate, Retail, Distribution, Transport, and Data Centres (including Europe).

John started his ABM career 20+ years ago in his native Scotland and has steadily progressed within the company becoming Managing Director over 5 years ago. Due to the continual and progressive success of the B&I U.K. business, John was asked to incorporate the ATS U.K. business into his team from the start of FY21.

John King – Finance Director FP&A

John King is ABM UK’s Finance Director – FP&A ( Financial Planning & Analysis). John has been working at ABM for over 20 years. First as a consultant before coming onboard full time as Finance Director for the UK Aviation business in 2012, moving to his current role as Finance Director responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis at the back end of 2020.

John is ACCA qualified, prior to working for ABM John worked in public practice with both Arthur Andersen and Deloitte before setting up a consultancy practice serving a number of national and international clients.

Jim Niblock – Managing Director – AVI UK

Jim Niblock is the leader of our U.K. Aviation operations, reporting to Sean Bromfield, SVP Operations at ABM Industries (Aviation Division).

Since joining ABM in 2018, Jim has been U.K. Operations Director, and in summer 2022 he was appointed leader of U.K. Aviation operations. During his time at ABM, Jim has helped strengthen operations delivery and lead our teams and clients through the challenges of the pandemic. With 20+ years in the aviation industry, he has a proven track record in standing up new services both in the U.K. and U.S. and a sharp focus on service delivery.

Under Jim’s leadership ABM continues to support clients adjust to the challenging and changing aviation industry.

Chris Townsend – Senior HR Director

Chris joined ABM in January 2019. He has over 30 years of HR experience at all levels of HR and 28 years in the Facilities Services sector across the UK, Middle East, and Europe. Having managed large HR teams, supporting over 50,000 employees operating in just about every sector of industry and commerce including Retail, Aviation, Real Estate, Manufacturing, MOD, Central and Local Government, Healthcare, Logistics, and Distribution, to name a few.

Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (FCIPD) and a holder of an MBA from Henley Management College.

He also mentors aspiring HR Directors and new HR professionals for CIPD

In his current role, Chris leads all aspects of HR in the UK including Business Partnering, Talent Attraction, Learning and Development, Employee Communication, and HR Shared Services. He also leads on Sustainability across the UK.

Susan Mason – Director, UK IT Operations

Susan is ABM UK’s Director of UK IT Operations and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the UK IT systems. As part of the global IT team, Susan is contributing to the future planning of the UK IT organisation and structure in line with global strategy. Susan is responsible for ABM UK’s data privacy strategy and will ensure the company is compliant with current data privacy and data protection legislation. Susan has been ABM for 5 years and has an MBA in Leadership practice. 

Leanne Nutter – Brand and Retail Director 

Leanne is the Brand and Retail Director at Blackjack Promotions, the travel retail and brand experience, experiential and staffing specialist.  Her career in the travel retail sector began over 20 years ago. During this time with Blackjack Promotions the business has enjoyed great success as the UK’s largest provider of staffing in the travel retail arena. Leanne has worked in several key roles, leading operations as well as client services for the business’ large portfolio of luxury brand clients. 

Throughout her career Leanne’s key focus and expertise has been in understanding the chemistry between people and brands and recruiting and training highly motivated and knowledgeable brand ambassadors to enhance the customer experience and promote brand engagement. 

With a deep understanding of the customer journey and the importance of having the right people representing you in the travel retail environment, Leanne is passionate about ensuring the customer experience converts the consumer into a brand advocate.

Katrina Hazell – Sustainability Manager

Katrina is a results driven Sustainability Leader has developed a reputation for creating and delivering sustainability strategies that promote and deliver carbon reduction, resource and tactical plans to reduce waste and promote resource reduction and recovery, reduce environmental impacts, whilst delivering social value locally and nationally.  She is accountable for monitoring company sustainability performance in the UK.

Prior to ABM, Katrina spent over 3 decades in the construction industry driving sustainability outcomes in place, space, and operations whilst delivering social value.  She is a committed volunteer and occasional manager of marine conservation activities.

Katrina is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business at The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership(CISL).  She is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and has additionally embarked on a professional development journey through the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.

Colin Stevenson – Finance Director – Shared Services

Colin Stevenson is ABM UK’s Finance Director – Shared Services. Colin has been working at ABM since 2016, initially as Finance Director for the UK Business & Industry group and in his current role since late 2020.

Colin is ACA qualified and has over 25 years experience as a Finance Director. After several years in public practice, Colin held various increasingly senior finance roles within Chubb Fire & Security before working at Selecta prior to joining ABM.

Adam Baker – Strategic Sales Director

Adam is responsible for Strategic Sales within the UK and is responsible for supporting the B&I team on contract retentions and developing and strengthening client partnerships and relationships. Adam has worked within the FM industry for nearly 20 years originally in an operational role specialising in security services across a multitude of clients and sectors. Over the last 12 years, Adam has taken a more active role in business development focusing on a much wider range of services and solutions for clients before becoming responsible for the Sales function within ABM back in 2012.
